Software with an interest in meaning.
Semantiks is a UK software company founded by creative technologist Anthony Head. We build tools that bridge creative practice, technical systems and research.
Our story
Semantiks grew from a long-running interest in how software can help people understand and work with complex creative material — not simply by adding more controls, but by recognising structure, relationships and what matters.
That thread runs through our first current product family, Drone Show Composer, where the challenge is not only to place drones but to preserve visual meaning as scale and available resources change.
Poetiks: an earlier chapter
Years before Semantiks, Anthony developed Poetiks, a research-led software project exploring new ways to support the learning and teaching of poetic technique. It treated poems as layered systems of rhythm, sound, semantics and structure, using visualisation and annotation to help reveal relationships within a text.
Poetiks is not a current Semantiks product. It is part of the history behind the company: an early example of the same recurring question — how can software help people see and work with meaning?
